Tonight for dinner I cooked Bulgogi and ginger pork with Asian BBQ rice.
The pork was a pork loin sirloin chop. To prepare the pork I rubber it with squeeze ginger and then marinated it overnight in a Korean Inspired Bulgogi Marinade . The Marinade was from a bottle and was a combination of Tamari, garlic, ginger, pear and pineapple juice.
The rice was from a bag and to prepare it I simply opened the bag and in a bowl combined it with 2 cups of water.
To cook the pork I used a cup of strawberry wine for my liquid and placed the pork on the bottom rack of my Power Pressure Cooker XL and used the Chicken / Meat setting with 20 minutes of time.
For the rice I simply put the bowl in the microwave for 12 minutes.
The pork was extremely tasty and had a slightly spicy and sweet flavor. In my opinion I overcooked the pork and should have set the time for 15 minutes or perhaps cooked it in the Superwave instead of the pressure cooker.
The rice was extremely flavorful and was cooked perfectly. I really enjoy this particular rice blend.
Now for my wife’s opinion of the meal.
“Pork w/Korean BBQ marinade
Sauce was really flavorful. Sweet, tangy with a hint of kick.
Brown rice was delicious, moist, not dry. Kind of a sweet taste with a hint of spice. ”
I really enjoyed preparing, cooking and eating this dish however I think the next time I cook the pork I will have to try a different approach.
