Tonight for dinner I got to try a place that I have been wanting to try for quite a while. I got to go to The Bayou in Salt Lake City. I have heard that this place serves awesome Cajun dishes. I also heard that they have a beer selection that is beyond compare.
I started with a Bonneville Sir Malcom Stout. For my food entree I ordered the Crawfish Etouffee with a blackened catfish filet and a side of gumbo.
I will start with the beer. I absolutely love a good dark beer and this 1 did not disappoint. It was nice and smooth and was no that all bitter. It had a slightly sweet taste.
The gumbo was amazing and in my opinion some of the best that I have had outside of Louisiana or Missisippi. The meat and rice were cooked to perfection and the spices were delicious. Job I
The Etouffee was also amazing and again some of the best that I have had outside Louisiana or Mississippi. The rice was nice and fluffy and had a delicious buttery taste. The roux was also delicious. The crawfish was cooked to perfection as was the catfish filet. Both the Crawfish and catfish were amazing.
As far as value for the money I would say that this place is definetely a great value for the money. I went in hungry and left full.
If you are in downtown Salt Lake City and looking for good Cajun food I would highly recommend The Bayou. I know I definetely want to go back and try other items on the menu.
