Today for lunch I found out that there was a food truck at the office that I had not tried. The food truck was called Bandera Brisket. Of course I had to try it.
I ordered the Brisket Platter. The platter conisted of Cole slaw, choice of 1 side, bread, choice of drink and of course brisket. While I was waiting for my good to be prepared I was talking to the guys in the truck and I found out that were from Texas and Bandera is a town in Texas. With that in mind they have to know how to do brisket right because Texas knows brisket.
I will start with the Cole slaw. The Cole slaw was ok and had ok flavor the ingredients were nice and fresh as well. My only criticisim of the Cole slaw is based on my personal preference which is a vinegar based slaw. The slaw was mayonase based but it was ok for mayonase based.
Next the corn. The corn was really good. The corn was nice and sweet as well as creamy and The flavor was awesome. I really enjoyed the corn.
Finally the Brisket. I have to say that this brisket was in my opinion the best that I have had outside of Texas. The brisket was cooked to perfection and was very moist and tender. The brisket had amazing flavor and I didn’t add any BBQ sauce to it. The brisket had a nice smoky taste but not overly smoky and it literally pulled apart with ease. To say that I was impressed with the Brisket would be an understatement.
I would say that value for the money at Bandera Brisket is spot on and I definitely got full in fact I didn’t even eat the bread.
I highly recommend Bandea Brisket food truck and the Brisket Platter. I will definitely go back and have the Brisket again.
