Today at work one of my co-workers Tyler Christensen had homemade Alfajores de Maizena that his wife had made. I found out that he had an extra dozen and I bought them for my wife and I to try.
These are a delicious sweet cookie from Argentina. They are a sandwich cookie – biscuit type cookie with Dulce De Leche in the middle then rolled in coconut. Sometimes they’re called “cornstarch cookies”.
As far as my opinion this is how I would describe them. Light and airy. Slightly sweet but not overly sweet they almost melt in your mouth. The Dulce de Leche is sweet but again not overly sweet. The coconut is yummy.
As far as value for the money I would say that this was a great value for the money.
If you get a chance to try Alfajores de Maizena I would highly recommend them. They are definitely a treat worth trying.
This is a quote from my wife about them
“Very light, surprisingly not overly sweet. The filling, dusting powder and coconut is a really nice flavor. Really enjoyed them.”
